All employees have mandatory obligations when:
1. An employee receives information about potential sexual and/or sex-based misconduct, or other discrimination or harassment; or
2. A student tells any JHU employee they are pregnant or have a related condition.

2. Required Response to A Student’s Disclosure of Pregnancy or A Related Condition
When a student informs any employee of Johns Hopkins University of the student’s pregnancy or related conditions, the employee must promptly do the following:
- Provide the student with Title IX Coordinator’s name and contact information:

- Inform the student that the Title IX Coordinator can coordinate specific actions to prevent sex discrimination and ensure the student’s equal access to JHU’s education programs and activities.
The phrase “pregnancy or related conditions” means:
- Pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, or lactation;
- Medical conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, or lactation; or
- Recovery from pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, or lactation.

Note
The obligation to provide this information also applies when a person who has a legal right to act on behalf of a student informs any employee of the student’s pregnancy or related condition. This is most likely when the parent or legal guardian of a minor student informs an employee of the minor student’s pregnancy or related condition.
